Chemical Exchange Program
In an effort to meet the regulatory requirements for waste minimization, the CSO has
established a Chemical Exchange Program.
The primary goal is to promote collaboration, resource sharing, cost efficiency, and
waste reduction in scientific research. Under this program, Principal Investigators may contribute chemicals (in their original
reagent containers) to be used by other laboratories.
All exchange chemicals must have a printed Chemical Exchange Label.
Pick Up of Exchange Chemicals
Notification to pick up exchange chemicals is done using the Waste Pickup Application in the . For instructions on how to produce a "Request to pick up exchange chemicals" and create the Chemical Exchange Label, go to the , page 18. (or call 706-721-2663 for assistance).
- Complete all information as described in the CS Assistant Web User Manual for the
Waste Pickup Application.
- Print label number 4, which is defined as "Chemical Exchange Label-Avery 8163 (10-up)". You may print the label on the prescribed Avery adhesive label
or on a plain piece of paper.
- Apply or tape the label to the container. Do not cover or deface the original label.
If using an adhesive label, apply it to a clear area of the container.
- Place the container where it can be easily located by Chemical Safety Office staff
members on the following Wednesday pickup.
