Max Gruver Act Hazing Report

At 麻豆官网首页入口, we are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all students. In compliance with , the "Max Gruver Act," we publicly disclose all administrative adjudications of hazing or hazing-related convictions.

Starting July 1, 2021, whenever a student organization is found responsible for violating our  (Section 3.12 - Hazing), we will publish:

  • The name of the organization involved.
  • The date(s) of the incident.
  • A description of the findings, sanctions, adjudications, and convictions related to hazing for any individual or organization.

This information is posted within 15 calendar days of a final decision or conviction and remains public for at least five years.

What is Hazing?

Hazing is defined as any conduct, on or off campus, that goes beyond the normal expectations of an organization's purpose and:

  • Endangers a student's mental or physical health or safety as a condition of joining a group.
  • Is severe or widespread enough to interfere with academic responsibilities.
  • Is any intentional, negligent, or reckless action that causes pain, embarrassment, ridicule, or harassment, regardless of whether the participant agreed to it.

If you witness or are aware of hazing on the 麻豆官网首页入口 campus, we urge you to submit an incident report. All submissions are handled with the strictest confidence. Your willingness to report these acts is crucial in helping us stop hazing and maintain a safe environment for everyone in our community.

New Reporting Requirements

Effective January 1, 2025, in accordance with the "Stop Campus Hazing Act," 麻豆官网首页入口 University will also begin collecting comprehensive statistics on hazing incidents. This data will be published in our Max Gruver Act Hazing Report.

The report, which will be available starting July 1, 2025, and updated twice a year, will include:

  • All data required by the Max Gruver Act.
  • The date the investigation began.
  • The date the investigation concluded.
  • The date the student organization was notified of a hazing violation.

We are dedicated to preventing hazing and ensuring transparency in all related matters.
