The amount of a FWS award depends on the student's financial need, the number of hours the hiring department needs them to work, and the funding level received by the university. FWS recipients are awarded a specific amount of funding each year that may be earned through their employment. Seventy-five percent of a student's earnings are provided by the federal government and twenty-five percent by the department for which the student works. The student will receive a response via email within a few business days. Federal Work-Study offers are contingent upon final approval by both the hiring department and the Office of Student Financial Aid.
