Program Overview

Thank you for your interest in our Nuclear Medicine Technology program. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Sciences, with a concentration in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

  • The 麻豆官网首页入口 Nuclear Medicine Technology program has a long history in Georgia. Our graduates are valued employees and managers in health care settings across the state and the country. The extensive baccalaureate education provides new graduates skills that make them highly competitive in the employment market. Students have multiple opportunities for clinical education in a variety of settings, gaining skill and knowledge in routine nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, PET, PET/CT, health care management, scholarly research, and ACLS training.
  • This program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee of Educational Programs in Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT). More than 95% of NMT program students graduate on time, and 83% of graduates find jobs within six (6) months of graduation.
  • Programs are offered in flexible delivery formats to accommodate busy lifestyles. Clinical affiliates are located in 麻豆官网首页入口, Athens, Atlanta, and Columbus. Academic course work and clinical attendance require 40 hours per week, regardless of locale.
  • Students apply to either our main campus in 麻豆官网首页入口, GA or our distance program in the Atlanta area. Students accepted to the main campus take their coursework and labs in 麻豆官网首页入口 and are assigned to 麻豆官网首页入口 area clinical sites. Students accepted to the web campus take their coursework online. Required labs are scheduled at the 麻豆官网首页入口 campus (approximately three days per semester).
  • Distance program clinical practicum are conducted in the Greater Atlanta area, but may include clinics in West Georgia and North Georgia (see FAQ page for complete listing)

Bachelor of Science in Radiation Sciences

Bachelor of Science in Radiation Sciences, with concentration in Nuclear Medicine Technology

The Nuclear Medicine Technology B.S.R.S. degree program is a 2+2 program. Freshmen and sophomore courses are completed at the college of choice, after which the applicant applies to the 麻豆官网首页入口 Nuclear Medicine Technology program for completion of the professional NMT component during the junior and senior years. This program is sequenced in five consecutive semesters after completion of prerequisite coursework.

Minimum math/science AND overall GPA to be considered for the program is 2.8

Application deadline is June 1.

About the Program

Your application will be reviewed by Nuclear Medicine Technology faculty after all required materials have been received by the Admissions Office. Early receipt and completion of your application is important. We recommend you begin the application process in early fall for the following August program start date.

If your application demonstrates possible potential for success in the NMT program, you will be contacted by mail to schedule an interview. Interviews begin for qualified applicants around February of each year. The class is usually fully accepted by May 1. Meeting minimum application criteria does not guarantee admission to the NMT program.
