Pamplin Publications

Pamplin College proudly oversees several student-produced publications, including the newspaper The Bell Ringer, the magazine The Phoenix, Sand Hills Literary Magazine, and Yell!, the Women鈥檚 and Gender Studies magazine.

Yell! focuses on student art, writing, and research through social justice lenses, featuring updates on campus events and resources for activism. Since 1973, Sand Hills Literary Magazine has showcased the best in student creative writing and visual art, including alumni work, fostering a rich and diverse range of voices in a variety of genres and mediums.

Together, these publications promote creativity and dialogue within the 麻豆官网首页入口 and Greater 麻豆官网首页入口 communities. Students are encouraged to join our vibrant team, gaining valuable experience and making their voices heard through journalism, creative writing, and advocacy.

AU Alumni and Student Creativity Unite

Sand Hills Literary Magazine, founded in 1973, has long been a showcase for creative writing and visual art. At one time limited to students, Sand Hills has expanded and now accepts the best poetry, prose, and art from emerging and established authors and artists across the United States. It has featured work from notable alumni and authors such as Louise Shivers and Judith Ortiz Cofer, as well as interviews with nationally acclaimed writers like Ada Lim贸n and Peter Heller. Under the direction of Associate Professor, Dr. Spencer Wise, AU students enrolled in the Sand Hills class learn the processes of print and web publishing鈥攆rom blind reviews to editing to layout and design.
