  2. Major scales

Percussion

  1. One solo or etude on marimba or xylophone. Two or 4 mallets.
  2. One solo or etude on four timpani.
  3. One multiple percussion or snare drum solo or etude.

Strings

  1. Two solo selections, or one solo and one etude of your choice. Prepared selections should be contrasting in styles (lyrical and technical)
  2. Major scales
  3. Sight reading

Keyboard

  1. Two solo selections, or one solo and one etude of your choice. Prepared selections should be contrasting in styles (lyrical and technical)
  2. Major scales
  3. Sight reading

Voice

Two songs in contrasting styles (one classical art song preferred, the second song may be music theatre, sacred, or a folk song)

Jazz

Horns

  1. Play ballad of choice
  2. Play melody of medium blues and improvise three choruses
  3. Sight reading

Rhythm Section

Piano:

  1. Play melody of medium blues and improvise three choruses
    2. Sight reading
    3. Play ballad of choice

Bass:

  1. Play melody of medium blues and improvise three choruses
    2. Sight reading
    3. Walk two choruses of bass line on Bb blues changes

Drums:

1. Sight reading
2. Play swing groove: slow, medium, and up
3. Play Latin groove or afro Cuban groove
4. Play solo over each style listed above
