The World Languages Placement exams are administered by the Department of English and World Languages at 麻豆官网首页入口. Native or heritage speakers, as well as students with prior high school language coursework, are encouraged to take this free placement exam.

Eligibility Guidelines:

Students who already have college credit for a language are not eligible to take the placement exam in that language and should enroll in the next course in the sequence. To take the exam, test-takers must be current students or registered for Orientation with access to their official 麻豆官网首页入口 email and Brightspace (D2L).

To request access to the exam on Brightspace (D2L), please email ewl@augusta.edu or call 706-737-1500.

Course Placement & Earning Prior Credit:

Based on your exam score, you may place into 1001, 1002, 2001, 2002, or an upper-division language course. Completing the course you place into with a grade of "C" or better allows you to receive credit for lower-level prerequisites. For example, placing into and passing 2002 qualifies you to receive retroactive credit for 1001, 1002, and 2001.

Once you have successfully completed your placed course, submit the Placement Exam Credit Form and pay the processing fee of $15 per 3-credit course ($5 per credit hour) to have the retroactive credits added to your official transcript.
