Family and Community Medicine Faculty Positions

The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) in the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú is seeking clinician educators to support its teaching, scholarship, and service programs in response to anticipated growth in undergraduate medical education and its Family and Community Medicine residency.

Overview

The DFCM’s clinician educators provide academic support in all years of MCG’s curriculum. Faculty course involvement includes preclinical electives and interdisciplinary required courses and a six-week Family and Community Medicine distributed clerkship. The department also sponsors hospital and ambulatory, research, public and population health, and vulnerable population electives.

The DFCM has an ACGME accredited Allopathic Family and Community Medicine Residency Program, an ACGME accredited 1+2 rural track residency program, and a concurrent AOA accredited Osteopathic Family and Community Medicine residency component. The residency program is also supported by teaching affiliations with the local not-for-profit University Health Care System along with other regional partners.

Clinical teaching and services occur concurrently in the Family and Community Medicine Center and at within Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Health, as well as, other affiliated local and regional clinical sites. The FCMC is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. Patient-and Family-Centered Care concepts are the guiding principles for new clinical program development in the university’s academic health center as exemplified by its .
