STORM - Medical Provider
               
                  
                     
                     STORM - Medical Provider is a forty-hour, comprehensive Tactical Emergency Medical
                        Support (TEMS) course for licensed medical personnel directly supporting tactical
                        law enforcement teams. The course provides realistic, scenario-based training to ensure
                        the student becomes proficient in all aspects of providing tactical medicine support.
                        The National TEMS Council (NTEMSC) critical competency domains covered include:
                     
                     
                        
                        - Tactical Medicine Methodology
 
                        
                        - Remote Assessment and Surrogate Care
 
                        
                        - Rescue and Extraction
 
                        
                        - Hemostasis (hemorrhage control)
 
                        
                        - Airway
 
                        
                        - Breathing
 
                        
                        - Circulation
 
                        
                        - Medication Administration
 
                        
                        - Casualty Immobilization
 
                        
                        - Medical Planning
 
                        
                        - Force Health Protection
 
                        
                        - Mechanisms and Patterns of Injury
 
                        
                        - Medical Legal Aspects of TEMS
 
                        
                        - Hazardous Materials Management
 
                        
                        - Mass Casualty Triage
 
                        
                        - Tactical Familiarization.
 
                        
                     
                     Students will complete both a written and scenario based examination to earn their
                        STORM Medical Provider certificate of completion.
                     
                     Prerequisites: 
                     
                     
                        
                        - High school or General Education Development diploma.
 
                        
                        - Valid state driver license.
 
                        
                        - Proof of current Emergency Medical Technician certification or above.
 
                        
                        - Proof of affiliation with an agency providing operational support to law enforcement
                           or military tactical team.
