American Rescue Plan

麻豆官网首页入口 has allocated $8,803,423 of the American Rescue Plan Act funding for students.

To be potentially eligible for this funding, students must:

  • Be degree-seeking* and enrolled by the end of drop-add period for Fall 2021 and Spring 2022; and
  • Have completed a 2021-2022 FAFSA.

*Degree-seeking excludes the following students:

  • All non-degree seeking students (i.e., dual-enrolled, transient, auditor, non-degree post-baccalaureate)
  • Post-professional students (i.e., interns/residents)
  • Students utilizing the USG鈥檚 Tuition Assistance Program

Awards for Spring 2022 semester will be distributed in two categories:

  • Automatic awards were distributed to students with need (as defined by the Dept. of Education) on January 28, 2022 and February 11, 2022.
  • Application opens March 1, 2022 and will remain open until funds are exhausted.
  • Applications will be reviewed weekly
  • If approved, awards will be disbursed within 10 days of posting
  • NOTE:  The application has closed due to limited remaining funding and receiving over 1,000 applications.

Reporting Information

  • On April 24, 2020 麻豆官网首页入口 signed a Certification and Agreement form with the Department of Education to receive money under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students. The first award of funding was under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act for $6,145,342 of which $3,072,671 was awarded to students. The second award of funding dated January 13, 2021 was for $9,937,667 under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) of which $3,072,671 was awarded to students. The third award of funding dated May 11, 2021 was under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) for $17,550,378 of which $8,803,423 is to be awarded to students.

    As of September 30, 2020 all of the $3,072,671 CARES award for students had been distributed. As of March 22, 2021 all $3,072,671 CRRSAA award for students had been distributed. As of March 11, 2022 all $8,803,423 ARP award for students has been distributed.

    Awards under CARES, CRRSAA and ARP were disbursed in two categories. The first category is an automatic award to students based on financial need as determined by the Department of Education and completion of the FAFSA. The second category is completion of an application.

  • As of March 11, 2022 all $8,803,423 funds under the American Rescue Plan have been awarded to students.

  • Quarterly Report ending March 31, 2022  For the spring 2022 semester we estimate 5,840 students would be eligible for an automatic award. On January 28, 2022, automatic awards were disbursed to 3,070 students for a total of $2,134,200 and on February 11, 2022, $1,909,050 were disbursed to 2,735 student. We estimate 8,368 students are eligible to apply. On March 11, 2022, the remaining $324,998 was disbursed to 968 students that completed an application. Some students received an award under both categories.

  • During October 2021, 麻豆官网首页入口 disbursed $142,050 to 290 students that completed the American Rescue Plan application. As of December 31, 2021, this brings the total of $4,432,075 disbursed to 6,425 students (some students received an award under both categories). The remaining $4,371,348 will be disbursed in spring 2022 semester.

  • As of September 30, 2021, 麻豆官网首页入口 has awarded $8,504,350 of the $8,803,423 American Rescue Plan allocation. As of this date $4,290,025 of the funds have been disbursed to 6,135 of the estimated 6,401 eligible students. Awards for the American Rescue Plan application will be disbursed in October 2021. The remaining funds will be disbursed to students in the spring 2022 semester. 
  • As of July 1, 2021, we are currently developing a plan to award the funds to students.
