Simon Medcalfe
Simon K. Medcalfe joined 麻豆官网首页入口 in 2009 and is a professor of economics
and Cree-Walker Chair at the Hull College of Business, with an emphasis on sports economics, social determinants of health, and the local
economy.
A decorated faculty member, he received the Distinguished Service Award from the Graduate
School in 2016 and Outstanding Faculty Award from the Hull College of Business in
2018.
Medcalfe is the author of two books, 鈥淚ncentives in Baseball鈥 and 鈥淓xtraordinary Perspectives
on Business,鈥 both published in 2008.
Educated in his native England, Medcalfe earned his bachelor's degree, majoring in
economics, and master's degree, majoring in general finance, from the University of
Leicester. He earned his Ph.D. in business and managerial economics in 2006 from Lehigh
University in Bethlehem, PA.
He is also a member of the American Economic Association and National Association
of Forensic Economists.
