Bio

Dr. LaRavia graduated from the Georgia Campus-Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010, completed his Emergency Medicine residency and advanced ultrasound fellowship at 麻豆官网首页入口 Medical College of Georgia in 2013 and 2014 respectively. He serves as the Director of Clinical and Emergency Ultrasound at Wellstar MCG and Assistant Director of Emergency Medicine Clerkship for 麻豆官网首页入口. His primary areas of clinical interest are Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) with a focus on ultrasound guided regional anesthesia in the emergency department, developing efficient IT Health POCUS workflows and applying advanced ultrasound techniques in the emergency department. He is currently championing the effort, that began at Wellstar MCG, to establish an enterprise-wide POCUS process across Wellstar hospitals and clinics to better integrate and standardize POCUS. Academically, he focuses heavily on resident and medical student education as well as clinical ultrasound fellow education and development.

Dr. LaRavia is faculty in the 麻豆官网首页入口 Center for Ultrasound Education. Through MCG and 麻豆官网首页入口 he is actively involved in providing POCUS training from the undergraduate medical level to the post graduate medical level locally, regionally and internationally at Instituto de Medicina Tropical, Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Per煤 and Complejo Hospitalario Metropolitano in Panam谩 City, Panam谩.

He is also involved in the Wellstar MCG Digital Health and Virtual Care programs. Growing up in a very rural part of Louisiana, he appreciates the critical need of having access to a good system of medical care close to home and sees the benefits of these programs.

When he鈥檚 not working, Lee enjoys traveling, especially to Italy and other parts of Europe as well as Central and South America. He likes to kayak and paddleboard and is also an avid woodworker and gardener.
