Appointment Date: 1998

Dr. Wilde is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at 麻豆官网首页入口 in 麻豆官网首页入口, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate degree at Duke University, medical school at Indiana University, residency in Pediatrics at the Medical College of Virginia, and fellowships in both Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins Children鈥檚 Hospital. His primary research and teaching interests are influenza, meningitis, the appropriate use of antibiotics, and medicolegal issues. He has authored over 60 journal articles and textbook chapters. He is a frequent invited lecturer for Medical Education meetings at the local, regional and national level.

Dr. Wilde holds current Board Certification in Pediatrics, Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He is a full-time attending physician in the Pediatric Emergency Department at the Children鈥檚 Hospital of Georgia.

Dr. Wilde served for several years as Director of the Georgia chapter of CDC鈥檚 鈥淕et Smart鈥 (about antibiotics) program. He has also been active in Pandemic Flu planning at the local, regional, and State level. He served for six years as a writer on the Pediatric Review and Education Program (PREP) for the American Academy of Pediatrics, then spent an additional six years as co-editor of PREP-EM, an emergency medicine spin-off of PREP that is used by physicians world-wide. Dr. Wilde travels frequently with the Department of Emergency Medicine鈥檚 international teams, volunteering his time in mission settings in Africa, South America, and Asia.
