Community Outreach
As part of our mission, the College of Education offers low- and no-cost professional
learning opportunities to assist our students, faculty, staff, and alumni to acquire,
enhance, and refine the knowledge, skills, practices, and dispositions necessary to
create and support high achievement in all areas of study.
The college hosts workshops, conferences, expos, courses, certifications, school-based
cohorts and more in the pursuit of professional excellence.

summer institute where teachers explore writing, learn how to improve their own writing,

A one-day conference showcasing research from kinesiology students and professors
featuring speakers discussing research topics from related fields including exercise
science, sports psychology, and physical therapy, culminating in a keynote address

The AU National Writing Project Summer Institute offers professional development for
educators focused on improving writing and literacy through an immersive summer institute
where teachers explore writing, learn how to improve their own writing, and discover
how to better teach writing. |

Kids University
Spaces fill quickly for the annual Kids University Summer Camp. Held weekly in June
on the Summerville campus, this camp offers an integrative STEM/STEAM curriculum with
a different interactive topic each week. Engaging programs are available for rising
first through eighth graders. |
