Research Description

Molecular mechanisms of lung injury and repair with focus on biochemical basis of pulmonary vascular cytoskeletal and permeability regulation . 

     * Structure and function of cytoskeletal proteins and protein phosphatases

     * Phosphorylation/dephosphorylation as mechanism of vascular cytoskeletal regulation

     * Relationship between pulmonary endothelial cell (EC) contractility/cytoskeleton and barrier function in vitro and in vivo

     * Crosstalk between microtubules and microfilaments in EC barrier regulation 

     * Cytoskeletal responses to bioactive mediators and receptor/signal coupling in EC

     * HDAC-mediated epigenetic mechanisms of lung injury
