Dr. Bal Lokeswhar is a cancer researcher specializing in cancer prevention and therapy of prostate, bladder and breast cancer. Understanding and preventing the chronic inflammation in cancer progression is his primary research goal.

Research Interests
My research is focused on understanding the role of specific proteins that mediate benign and malignant prostate cancers, mechanism of drug-resistance and chemoprevention. The proteins belong to the G-Protein coupled receptors (GPCR) and those associated with their cellular signaling such as chemokines and cytokines and arrestins and growth factor receptors. The chemoprevention agents that I work on are natural, edible plant derived bioorganic compounds, such as curcumin and their analogs, triterpenes and polyphenols.
